The Fargo Force will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary as a team on Friday, Oct. 26th when they take on the Chicago Steel at Scheels Arena at 7:35 PM. The players will be wearing commemorative jerseys that they will wear as alternate jerseys for the remainder of the season. The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive an anniversary puck keychain and there will also be a skate with the Force following the game.
The Fargo Force dropped the puck in their inaugural season almost five years ago on Thursday, October 30th, 2008 versus the Sioux Falls Stampede. The Force won that first game in Scheels Arena 2-1 on goals from Nate Condon (currently at University of Minnesota) and Luke Witkowski (currently at Western Michigan).
Check out the official website during the week for alumni updates from former first year players, starting with former Captain Luke Witkowski on Monday.
Fans can begin pre-ordering replica commemorative jerseys at Top Shelf on the 26th while they last. Only a limited number of jerseys will be available for purchase. No discounts or coupons apply to the jerseys. Commemorative 5th year anniversary t-shirts and pucks will also be available for sale on Friday night.
The Fargo Force will then be on the road for the first two weeks in Nov. and will return home for a weekend series against the Omaha Lancers on Nov. 16 & 17.
