The Fargo Force are set to kick off their regular season home opener at Scheels Arena this Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:35 PM versus the Sioux City Musketeers.
Fargo just wrapped up their preseason play in Sioux City at the 2012 USHL Fall Classic where they went 0-3 in the tournament. Five players were released from the team on Friday night to bring the final roster count to 24. Players released included: Pavel Zykov, Jay Dickman, Emil Romig, Austin Adduono and Andrew Pikul.
John Marks will be returning 11 players from last season looking to continue the success of the last four years with a return to the Clark Cup Playoffs for the fifth year in a row. Fargo will also be looking to fill a void in net left by former goaltender Zane Gothberg who is now at the University of North Dakota beginning his college career. The Force finished 2nd overall in attendance last season in the USHL with an average of 3,370 fans per game.
Repositionable schedules will be handed out at the door courtesy of Sanford Orthopedics Sports and Medicine. These are to replace the magnetic schedules that have been handed out in previous years. They have an adhesive back and can be placed on any surface without damaging upon removal.
Fans will see some similar in-game promotions to last season, as well as some new promotions from sponsors such as TGI Friday’s and Lucky’s 13 Pub.
